Edward Taylor holds
a Ph.D. in music theory and composition from Rutgers University where
he studied with Pulitzer Prize- winning composer Charles Wuorinen. Taylor's
works have received premieres from such groups and artists as The N.Y.U.
New Music Ensemble, Helix!, The New York New Music Ensemble and Harvey
Sollberger, Fred Sherry, Ashlee Mack, and John McMurtery among others.
Taylor is a co-founder and co-director of The Society for Chromatic
Art, New York-based new music ensemble, and serves on the faculties
of William Paterson University and Westminster Conservatory. In addition,
Taylor is an active jazz musician and composer, performing and recording
with his quartet, Groove Apparatus, as well as artists such as Terell
Stafford, John Farnsworth, Danny Walsh, and Michael Phillip Mossman.
